NATURAL FIELD COLLECTION By ZAHA HADID ARCHITECTS (ZHA)

The Natural Field Collection by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) is characterised by the extreme dynamism and fluidity of the defined, sometimes daring, lines, which alternate with expressive curves that are intensified by the materiality of the rugs. Interwoven threads of silk produce a sheen that interacts with the matte of the Himalayan wool. This generates dynamic interplays between figure and ground, which always change with the light, giving the illusion of a three-dimensionality that both challenges and redefines the notion of space. Interlace and Perspective are inspired by the inherent conceptual intersections between ZHA’s architectural research and practice, and the materials and manufacturing process of Illulian’s handmade, all-natural rugs.
