Illulian collaborates with Pierre-Yves Rochon special guest at the Salone del Mobile.

Design is a creative process that transcends eras, reinterpreting the past and envisioning the future through the language of the present. In this spirit, the 63rd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano reflects on design as a universal language—one that connects times and cultures, blends tradition with innovation, and fosters dialogue between past and future as the driving force behind a dynamic and forward-looking design culture. This year introduces a new exhibition route in pavilions 13 and 15, A Luxury Way.

From this concept comes the idea of commissioning French architect Pierre-Yves Rochon to create an installation that asserts the importance of time and experience in furniture design—one inspired by tradition, yet reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The aim is to honor the legacy of the past and project it into the future. A chameleonic designer and master of luxury hospitality, Rochon has spent the past 45 years in search of the true essence of luxury, signing prestigious interiors for hotel brands such as Four Seasons, Ritz, Fairmont, and Waldorf Astoria, as well as for Michelin-starred chefs like Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse.

For the Salone, he conceived Villa Héritage, a space where design becomes a shared and timeless language—capable of uniting all forms of art and encouraging reflection on the idea of transmission. Elegant and evocative, Villa Héritage redefines the concept of interior design, turning it into a bridge between memory and innovation, where luxury is not merely aesthetic but a multisensory experience of harmony, culture, and timeless inspiration. The architectural shape of Villa Héritage is a square: the installation welcomes, invites pause and contemplation, and expresses a quiet, understated beauty—one that is felt even when left unexplained.

Each room tells a chapter of a story, where design intertwines with the arts. There is the White Room, where light becomes cinema and projections transform surfaces into visual poetry. The Winter Garden evokes Italian landscapes in vibrant green tones. The Red Salon bursts with the theatrical flair of Italian opera, while the Plum Library invites visitors to get lost in literature—a tribute to the ideas that have shaped our culture. At the center, the Music Patio features an Alpange piano, its played notes and shared silences turning into collective emotions.

Adding to the timeless atmosphere of Villa Héritage, Illulian participates with the refined Florian rug, a symbol of contemporary elegance in dialogue with the past, and with an antique tapestry, an authentic fragment of textile memory—underscoring the continuity between artisanal tradition and modern aesthetic vision.

Villa Héritage is not only a tribute to design—it is a statement of intent: every detail speaks of heritage and innovation, of a past mirrored in the present, shaping how we imagine the future.
